Il sogno di una vita
I tried many different sports before I got interested in playing golf. I started skiing at the age of 3 and I ended up playing golf for the first time when I was 12 years old. At that time I was still playing football 4 times a week, meaning 3 practices and the weekly game on Saturdays, which means that I was on the golf course only once a week before one of my football practices.
When I finished middle school at the age of 16, I knew I was going to start another full time school a few months from then, so I had to decide which one of the two sports I wanted to pursue.
It was a difficult decision for me to make, because I had several great teammates and I was having fun playing with them. However, since I couldn’t see myself playing football forever, I chose to keep playing golf.
In September 2006 I started the Scuola Cantonale di Commercio in Bellinzona. It is a four year school and I graduated in 2010.
During those four years it was hard to find time for training hours because the school and my house are about 30 minutes away from the golf course and I was getting out of school at around 3 o’clock every day.
In 2011 and in 2012 I went to the United States during the winter in order to work on my swing and to get ready for the following seasons.
After a tough season in 2013, my coach and I decided that the best way to keep moving forward was to already turn pro in 2014. Now we are working on getting ready for my first season as a professional golfer.
During my free time I like to do many things. I love reading and I like to hang out with my friends.
I also enjoy watching or practicing other sports; winter sports are my favourite.
I particularly love skiing. The feeling you get after you put a snowboard under your feet and the sense of freedom that it gives you are unbeatable.
